Mario was inspired to artistic pursuits from an early age by his mother’s artwork. His work today exudes a lifetime process that fuses spiritual content with artistic mastery of composition and execution. His paintings hang in collections throughout the world, and he has completed dozens of prestigious commissions. He has participated in over 50 group and one-man exhibitions throughout the southwest and west coast, including showings in Santa Fe and Taos, NM, in Sedona, AZ, in San Francisco and Los Angeles, CA, and in Denver and Boulder, CO.
Born and based in Denver, CO, Mario’s cultural lineage includes Yaqui Indian and Hebrew, influences to which he adds his deep experience with eastern wisdom ways through his lifelong learning in traditional martial arts, Chinese medicine and yoga. All of these influences and more, combined with his dedicated participation in Native American ceremonial practices, serve to inform his work in ways which he discovers on a daily basis. From mystery teachings and ancestral ways, and from sources also unseen, he works out his art all the better to serve humankind’s urge for a spiritual evolution, a harmonious kinship among infinite diversity.
