Charles Vinh

Born in Vietnam, Charles Vinh immigrated to Canada in 1970.

Charles Vinh has been working as an artist for more than twenty years. A perfectionist and very versatile, he masters many mediums such as watercolor, oil and acrylic. Vinh has the ability to express with accuracy emotion and gracefulness through is figures subjects. The aircraft he has painted or his race cars reveal the speed and power. The treatment of work of art is classical with a touch for abstract and modernity. As an accomplished portraitist, Chalres Vinh has carried out portraits of prestigious men and women from the political, legal and business fields. He has been selected as an artist to paint Canada post's commemorative stamps of the all stars of the National Hockey League and the series of the century Russia/Canada. He also has been chosen to illustrate the 30th anniversary of Visa Canada. A great deal of his works of art are part of institutional collections of the Quebec and Ontario governments as well as those of France, Italy, Greece, and North Carolina.

Charles Vinh won first prize for "Artflight" a contest held by the Canadian Museum of Aviation, First price of Canadian Aviation History and Heritage. He also has been the recepient of the first price, the People's choice award and guest artists award of the Canadian Society of Watercolor.
