André Brasilier is a French painter, born in 1929 in Saumur, France, who studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Art in Paris. In 1952, he received the Florence Blumenthal Award and the Prix de Rome for painting the following year. He resided at the villa Medicis in Rome from 1954 to 1957. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image.
