about Flowers (FS II.69)

Andy Warhol was the most prolific of all pop artists and used repeat motifs of elements of pop culture regularly in his work.

This screenprint, signed and dated in ballpoint pen and numbered with a rubber stamp, verso, uses bright neon shades of pink and green to depict one of his most common recurring images, the four flowers.

About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
