about L'Ange du Jugement - Message Biblique

This 1974 color lithographic poster by Marc Chagall was reproduced under the artist’s supervision by Mourlot Master Printer Charles Sorlier, designed after the maquette for the fourth lancet of Chagall’s renowned stained glass windows for the Cathedral of Saint Stephen of Metz.

Chagall’s surrealist and figurative masterpiece depicts the Angel of Judgment from the biblical creation story of Adam and Eve, rendered in a brilliant palette of canary yellow accented by vibrant blues, greens, and reds. This dramatic work exemplifies Chagall’s spiritual vision and his mastery of color and symbolism. A museum-quality poster from one of the 20th century’s most beloved artists.

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
