Barbara Vassilieff - Russian Born, American artist, designer, sculptress, teacher of watercolor. Studied Fine Art at National Academy of Design N.Y.C. under Robert Aitken. Received awards three years in succession for the best students work (two of them First Prizes). Studied watercolor with Edgar A. Whitney, oil with Paul Puzinas. Member of: American Artists Professional League The Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Art League of Long Island Art League of Nassau County Guild Hall Artists Club - East Hampton Parrish Art Museum - Southampton Hudson Valley Art Association Elected Member of Allied Artists of America Regularly participated in most of the competitive exhibits of Local and National Art Organizations. Has received more than 40 awards. Favorite medium is watercolor, and is an instructor of it at Art League of Long Island since 1959. Her paintings are in the permanent collection of Virginia State College."
