about The Big Apple

Benny Carter's rendering of the Statue of Liberty is a cute image representative of the spirit of New York City.

Rising high into the background, skyscrapers with illuminated windows surround the shore while streets packed with yellow taxis border the shoreline of the upper New York Bay. About The Artist: Benny Carter

Benny Carter was born in 1943 in High point, North Carolina. His yard is filled with colorful birdhouses, totems and sculptures, all made from found objects. His paintings show the influence of frequent visits to New York and often include pain-staking detailed depictions of the skyline and waterfront.
