About The Artist: Claude Gaveau

Claude Gaveau was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1940. For five years he attended the Ecole des Arts Appliqués in Paris, where he learned the disciplines of mural and fresco painting, tapestry design and stained glass making. Then he studied for six years at Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, becoming equally accomplished in oil painting, watercolor, drawing and lithography. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
