Dennis Goldsborough

American

About the artist:

Delaware County, Pennsylvania native Dennis Goldsborough has had a passion for painting watercolors for over 30 years. He is a graduate of the Tyler School of Art. Rural landscapes, portraits, and still lifes are all subjects of Goldsborough's keen eye and its natural extension, his brush. Goldsborough derives tremendous satisfaction when others make an emotional connection with his work. It is his hope that each painting reflects the joy and peace that comes from walking with God. Dennis' paintings have received honors in juried exhibitions including Best in Show for his watercolor 'Night Watch' at the Ocean City, NJ Annual Boardwalk Art Exhibit. A signature member of the Philadelphia Watercolor Club, Goldsborough received the prized W. Emerson Heitland Award for his skillful watercolor 'Master's Tools'. A recent arts magazine review cites his Patriot's Garden' as...one of the most impressive pieces in the exhibit...The sun seems to pour across an old, mortared building that sits fat among high grasses. The picture invites onlookers in with an excellent use of light and shadow, and forces viewers to glance up in search of a beam that isn't there... Even in his portrait work, Goldsborough seems to capture a specific moment in time evoking not just a likeness, but the spirit of his subject. He is comfortable working from photographs, but prefers working within the structure of a sitting. Residing in Brookhaven, Dennis and his wife Betsy have four children and two grandchildren.
