About the artist:

Despoina Kantere was born in Greece. Her father was an army officer and her mother a journalist. She studied at the Athens Medical School. Since 2004 she has been living and working in Sweden. She is a dermatologist and a researcher. She has a son. She has published a novel in 2017 with the title: " At the end of the corridor ".

She creates realistic portraits and human bodies with charcoal and pencil. She focuses on the emotions that peoples´ faces and bodies show and connect with the audience.  She plays with dark, light and shadows.
