About the artist:
Ditti or Diti Almog, is conceptually driven, and intellectually challenging. The paintings of Diti Almog have intrigued and challenged critics and audiences for over two decades. Known for the variety of her palette, and a restrained, geometrical technique, her works — always in dialogue with the exhibition space and one another — are remarkable for their spatial complexity. Walls figure heavily in Almog’s work, challenging the viewers to explore how limits of space are defined, and how physical environments and Cartesian perspective serves to inform and organize our thoughts. Born in 1960 in Haifa, Israel, Diti Almog received her education at the Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem. Her works have been exhibited throughout the United States, and also in Paris, Stockholm, and Sydney. Almog has been awarded the Isracard Prize, recognition from The America Israel Foundation for the Arts, The Kolliner Prize, and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
