About The Artist: Don Fink

Don Fink is a well known and well listed Abstract Expressionist who studied at the Art Students League and the Academie Julien. He was born in Duluth , Minnesota, but later moved to Europe where he established himself as an artist. He was first based in Paris where he was a member of the "Jeune Ecole de Paris" (with Appel, Debre, Hundertwasser, Tapies, Dumitresco, Messagier, Zanartu , etc.) and later moved to Barcelona. About The Medium: Aquatint

An etching process in which tone is created by treating a plate with fine particles of acid resistant material (like powder resin) and then placing the plate in an acid bath. The acid bites into the plate between the grains of resin and when printed, the mass of tiny spots produces a textured area with tonal effects similar to watercolor wash.
