About The Artist: Don Nice

Don Nice was born in Visalia, California in 1932. After receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at University of Southern California, Nice earned his Master of Fine Arts from Yale University School of Art, New Haven, CT. Nice taught at the School of Visual Arts, New York, NY for many years. Since 1982, he has been artist-in-residence at Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH. Nice lives and works in Garrison, NY. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
