Edward Staloff, 96, of Westfield, New Jersey, noted illustrator, painter, etcher, and industrial designer, died December 23, 1989, at Lyons Veterans Medical Center in Bernards Township. He was born in Jersey City and lived in New York City for 62 years before moving to Westfield six years ago. Mr. Staloff studied at the Art Students League and the United States Army Art School in France after World War I. He was also awarded, on two occasions, fellowships to the McDowell Colony in Peterboro, N.H. He is represented in the permanent collection at Syracuse University and at the Savidge Library in Peterboro. His work is in many private collections and he has won awards for his watercolors, caseins and etchings. Mr. Staloff may also be found listed in the Who's Who in American Art.
