Elke Sommer is a German actress. She appeared in numerous films throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including roles in The Pink Panther sequel A Shot in the Dark (1964), the Bob Hope comedy Boy, Did I Get a Wrong Number! (1966), Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None (1974), and the British Carry On series in Carry On Behind (1975). As a child, Artist Elke Sommer studied painting under Peter Bina. Much of painter Elke Sommer's work is bright and cheerful, but she has also created more sombre pieces, often including a crucifix as a reminder of her pastor father. Marc Chagall is considered one of her prime influences. In 1968, Elke Sommer, artist, was introduced to the public with an exhibition at Munich's Galerie Schumacher. She has since exhibited her work in 39 one-woman shows in Europe and the United States. In 1985, she hosted a 13 episode TV show, Painting with Elke Sommer, teaching viewers how to create a painting from sketch to finished piece.
