Elsie Dinsmore Popkin
Born: Reading, Pa., January 11, 1937 B.F.A. Cornell University, 1958 Elsie Dinsmore Popkin received her B.F.A. in painting from Cornell University. In 1975 she became the first Artist-in-Residence at Reynolda House Museum of American Art, in Winston-Salem, NC, and was named Winston-Salem Artist of the Year in 1989. About The Medium:
Pastel
An art medium in the form of a stick, consisting of pure powdered pigment and a binder. The pigments used in pastels are the same as those used to produce all colored art media, including oil paints; the binder is of a neutral hue and low saturation.
