About The Artist: Emile Sabouraud

Emile Sabouraud was a French painter (born in Paris on November 17, 1900 - died in Lagny-sur-Marne in 1996). Son of a physician, Emile Sabouraud was also the older brother of pianist Cecile de Brunhoff, wife of Jean de Brunhoff, the creator of Babar. Student Othon Friesz at the Académie de la Grande Chaumiere (circa 1918-1920) and member of the Pré Saint-Gervais Group, he exhibited at the Salon des Independants, the Salon d'Automne...
