About the artist:

Ennio Calabria is an Italian artist and intellectual, an exponent of European figurative art . He has worked as an illustrator of short stories , book covers, poetry works and posters . In 1958 he exhibited his first personal exhibition at the "La Feluca" gallery in Rome. In 1959 he took part in the exhibitions of the VIII Quadrennial of Rome . This first participation will be followed by those of 1972, 1986 and 1999 In 1961 he was part of that circle of artists ( Renzo Vespignani , Ugo Attardi , Fernando Farulli , Piero Guccione and Alberto Gianquinto ) who, together with the art critics Antonio Del Guercio , Dario Micacchi and Morosini, gave life to the group called Il pro e the counter , a reference point for research in the field of figurative painting . In 1963 one of his works was exhibited at the Contemporary Italian Paintings exhibition , set up in some Australian cities [1] . In 1963-64 he exhibited at the exhibition Peintures italiennes d'aujourd'hui , organized in the Middle East and North Africa [2] . In 1964 he took part to ' International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale . His first anthology was held in 1985 in Milan , at the Rotonda della Besana ; a second will be held in 1987 in Rome , in Castel Sant'Angelo . The publication of a monograph edited by Carandente and Mario De Micheli , of which a second edition will be added, to which will be added the collaboration of the art critic Dario Micacchi, also dates back to those years . In 2009 the "La forma da dentro" exhibition was held at the Luciana Matalon Foundation in Milan and later at the Villa Paolina Bonaparte in Viareggio . In 2015 participates again to ' International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale , the national pavilion Guatemala Sweet Death.
