About the artist:

Gennady was born in Moscow in 1944. He finished the famous Moscow Central School of Art and then the Polygraphic Institute. In the 60s, along with his wife Nina Usacheva-Green he participated in The Movement Group founded by Lev Nussberg. He freelanced as a graphic designer and illustrator in APN (Agency for Press and News) Chemistry and Life Magazine and for other various publishers. He participated in various exhibitions in Moscow and Leningrad between 1964 and 1973. Gennady emigrated to the USA in 1974 with his wife and son Oleg. After a few hard years of odd jobs, Gennady found work in textile design, which later influenced his art. He collaborated for many years with Eduard Nakhamkin Gallery and later with Hansen and Dyansen galleries. He was one of the artists who participated in the famous Unofficial Soviet Art Show organized by Alexander Glezer in 1979 in Russian Museum in Exile in Jersey City and in Montgeron/Paris, France. His paintings can be found in different collections in the USA and Europe. Gennady Neishtadt died in New York in 1995.
