About the artist:

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Lockwood attended Cooper Union, the New School for Social Research, and received his undergraduate and MFA degrees from Yale University. He taught at several colleges and universities including Smith College, Amherst College, The Massachusetts College of Art, and the Rhode Island School of Design. His work resides in the permanent collections of numerous museums and libraries, and in many private collections. Solo Exhibitions: Kanegis Gallery in Boston 1962 ; Hicks Street Gallery in New York 1963.
