About the artist:

Hello, I'm Artist, Gi-Yong Jang

When I was in my early 20s, I used to work on abstract images through accidental movements of paint in order to express the feeling of longing and exploration for music. While I was thinking about it, I happened to see a musician performing on the streets and I just listened to music there blankly. While having a short conversation with the musician after the performance, I learned about the real life of the musician and found out that it was different from music that was sweet and full of love, so I focused not on the music, but those who do music and thought about the various emotions that people have.

I realized that the expression of my emotions does not appear when I see or hear an object, but when I look at or listen to it. Music is just a simple sound, but I noticed that it's not expressed through music itself, but based on a lot of my sensory data through the sensual act of listening. Thus, these two things are newly engraved in my mind and revealed before my eves.

Looking at the various performance halls and the countless audiences who enjoy the concert, I realized that they have a strong sense of passion, excitement, and happiness at that moment while they listen to music. They are enjoying the performance despite the many uncomfortable and difficult emotions that they may be feeling.

Even if there are many negative emotions that everyone feels in their difficult situations, there is happiness, passion and excitement in their hearts. Therefore, I'm working with the hope that they can overcome difficult situations and move forward.

Those who have their own unique personality which cannot be replaced by others.

Although the expression of emotions is limited in the real world, individuals bring their own memories and come up with the emotions they want to feel in music, or even sometimes the memories come from out of nowhere.

Music has always been with us in our lives.

You can not only see the emotions and music expressions expressed freely in the music concert hall, but also experience your own emotions through the expressions of the musicians and audience.

I hope you find yourself having countless emotions inside you, not looking at anyone, and move on to passion and happiness in the end by expressing your emotions at a music festival, being based on the central content of sharing, and empathizing with human values that have been taken for granted so far.
