Irving Marantz graduated from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in 1933. He studied painting and graphics at the Art Students League, then was employed by the Works Progress Administration for four years. During the 1960s and 1970s, he experimented with sculpture and created several large outdoor pieces, including Triad on Park Avenue in New York.
