About the artist:

Ivan Guayasamin was born in Pasto and is recognized as one of the best teachers in visual arts in Colombia. With his work keeps alive the ideal 'being Indian', retaking the history and feel of their ancestors. His works have been exhibited at major sites of Bogotá and in countries like Mexico, Spain, England and other European countries. Among the most recent awards include the medal awarded by Antonio Nariño Cundinamarca maximum exponent of American Indian and the award for best Gazettes of Colombia as Painter - Master of arts in our country, by the National Capitol in Bogotá. He has no relation to Oswaldo Guayasamin.
