Jacob Kirshboim

Israeli (1944)

About the artist:

Jacob Kirshboim was born in 1944 in Israel. His parents immigrated to Israel from Poland and were diligent pioneers and Zionists who took part in building the then new found state of Israel.

Spending his early years at the family farm, Jacob dreamt of being an artist - a dream that took 20 years to fulfill. Jacob graduated from Bezalel Academy of arts and design in Jerusalem and then went on to study textile design and printing in the United States, first in RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) and then at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology).

After returning to Israel, Jacob opened a textile design studio, giving services to clients in Israel, South Africa and NYC. During that time, Jacob also taught textile design at Shenkar Academy. After a while the studio grew into a large and impressive printing factory that worked with many advertising agencies and the billboard industry.

Jacobs' passion for art did not subside and in parallel to managing the factory, he set up a painting studio, where he would paint in the early mornings and late nights. In those years Jacob exhibited his works several times at NY ArtExpo.

After managing the factory for 20 years, Jacob went on to focus mainly on his art and painting. His art work was first impressionistic, but in the last decade his art went on to being more ore postmodernist. Jacob spent the recent years refining this collection of his current works, which he now presents to the world.
