With snow slowly melting off of the thawing desert earth, the cowboy on horseback has led his cattle into an open field where they can graze.
Rounding up his lasso, the cowboy prepares to rope the steer in front of him before it begins running like the rest of the cattle. Joe Beeler's fascination even with the mundane aspects of the cowboy lifstyle is represented clearly in works like this.
