About the artist:

Painter and wood engraver. He first studied at the Architectural Association, that at Leon Underwood’s School, at the Grosvenor and in Patris. His clear, bold black-and-white abstracts, of geometric and organic shapes combned were exhibited as early as 1928 in his first one main show at the Cottars Studio Gallery.
