About the artist:

Barcelona, 1931. José Canes Solé studied painting and engraving at the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Jordi in Barcelona. In 1957 he was granted a study trip to Italy, and the following year, with the scholarship of the French Institute and the Barcelona City Council he went to Paris, where he deepened his knowledge of the techniques of engraving and lithography at L'École Nationale supérieure des Beaux Arts. The first individual exhibition of José Canes Solé took place in Caracas, Venezuela, followed by numerous others in Europe and various countries of South America. AWARDS 1954. Drawing Prize.
