about Canyon Series III

Canyon Series III monoprint screenprint by Joseph Grippi captures the essence of minimalist abstract landscapes with warm red, gold, and brown tones reminiscent of southwestern canyon sunsets.

This rare 1/1 edition from circa 1975 showcases Grippi’s mastery of the screenprint medium, signed in pencil lower right and published by Joseph Grippi Gallery, NY. Measuring 30 x 30 inches, this museum-quality work exemplifies the convergence of Minimalism and Abstract Art movements, offering collectors a unique piece of American printmaking history. The composition’s geometric simplicity and rich color palette make it an exceptional addition to any contemporary art collection focused on landscape abstraction or minimalist aesthetics.

About The Artist: Joseph Grippi

Mr. Grippi was in his time a pupil of Hans Hofmann, then Stuart Davis, but perhaps was better known as Jackson Pollack's framer, and finally as the owner of the legendary Gallery G in New York City where he represented many of the finest artists of the second half of the 20th Century. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
