Madeleine Scellier was born in 1918 in Saint-Denis in the northern suburbs of Paris. She was in the School of Beaux-Arts in the George Espagnat's studio. She is an accomplished artist, a painter, a watercolorist, a printmaker, and an illustrator, she also did medals and painted ceramic jewelry.
