About the artist:

Quintana Martelo graduated from the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, University of Barcelona. In 1970 he made his first exhibition at the Caja de Aforros de Vigo and in 1971 he traveled to Europe with a scholarship from Castellblanch. In 1992 he moved to New York, since then he has been living there between his and his country of origin. In 2003 he was appointed member of the Royal Galician Academy of Fine Arts. In 2007 it presents a double exhibition denominated Memoria, in the Auditorium of Galicia and Igrexa da Universidade, as a review to its more than 30 years of work. In 2010 he joined the collection of great Galician painters, with the edition of a monograph where his career can be seen. He is currently exhibiting in the cities of Panama, invited by the Museum of Modern Art of Santo Domingo, at the QGC Art Gallery of the University of New York and in Havana, Cuba.
