Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1985), took a trip in 1931 to the Holy Land, which shook his perspective, spiritually and creatively.

In 1960 he created Drawings from the Bible, consisting of 24 color lithographs illustrative carious scenes from the Bible. In this lithograph Michal is helping her lover David escape from the window from her father Saul.
