about Paris Opera Ceiling

Marc Chagall (Russian/French, 1887-1985) was commissioned to paint the ceiling of the Paris Opera in 1960.

Over the course of eight months and using 440 pounds of paint, the ceiling was completed. Chagall’s ceiling is now one of the Opera’s most popular attractions. This print of the completed ceiling is an authorized reproduction created by a master engraver in 1994 with added facsimile signature. Publisher’s stamp, verso.
