About the artist:
As official courtroom sketch artist for The New York Times, Marilyn Church has re-created with paintings numerous jury-trial scenes including that of television personality Martha Stewart, the New York murderer Son of Sam, actor Woody Allen, and Mafia mobster John Gotti. Church says her goal is to make "people feel the energy and excitement I feel as I am witness to the most emotional and riveting testimony. . . They are alive with energy. They push color and line and express the range of powerful human emotion." Many of her works are done in brilliant colors and reflect, as she says, "the bizarre, the impossible, the unforgettable and the unbelievable."
