About The Artist: Marion Sheehan

As well as being an accredited orchid judge, Marion Sheehan was an Honorary Life Member of the American Orchid Society. She served on various committees of the the A.O.S. as chairman and co-chairman. Together with Tom Sheehan she produced a bi-monthly column on orchid genera, which was a popular feature of the American Orchid Society Bulletin for over 25 years. About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
