As simple and as complicated as that." "Possible rationale and the way I work: Personification and juxtaposition of familiar objects photographed, often in unexpected places, with a focus on the metaphorical individual within a hyperbole of the collective, that triggers a variety of thoughts and questions in the observer, involving at times a “quirky” sense of humour. That’s the main principle of the rationale at the moment, apart from the fundamental, exceedingly complex subject of “pleasure”. I do a lot of extensive research in a variety of subjects from neurology to compositions of Ligeti before crystallising an idea to pursue. Once I’ve gathered a fair amount of information with a vague idea on how a photo will look, I simply pick up my old M3 Leica and walk around and shoot film based on intuition (a very complex subject matter) alone. The only thing that I control is not to control anything, but let intuition communicate in dialogue with its environment. Intent on driving myself quite mad, I just can’t help working on many different series at the same time. I have many obsessions, ranging from ventilation, pipes and bottoms to hydrants (a dying breed)."
