About The Artist: Menashe Kadishman

Born in Tel Aviv in 1932. An Israeli sculptor and painter. From 1947 to 1950 he studied with the Israeli sculptor Moshe Sternschuss (b 1905) at the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv and in 1954 with the Israeli sculptor Rudi Lehmann (1903-77) in Jerusalem. In 1959 he moved to London, studying there until 1962. He remained in London until 1972 and had his first one-man show there in 1965 at the Grosvenor Gallery. His sculptures of the 1960s were...

About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
