Michiel Gloeckner, known for his highly refined, balanced abstract, geometric style derived from natural forms, was the son of a well-known art collector. He graduated from the University of Dresden with a degree in mathematics and art history. He received a degree from the Royal Academy of Dresden where he studied under Otto Dix. Screenprint
A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
