about Metamorphic Flowers

This is a bold and geometric rendering of a vase of flowers atop a grand piano.

The background is cleanly split into three colors in red, yellow, and gray while the flowers and the vase seem to be half realistic and half geometric abstracted forms. The edges of the piano have a rainbow reflection to them. This print is signed and numbered in pencil by the artist.

Milton Glaser (1929-2020) is among the most celebrated graphic designer in the United States. He has had the distinction of one-man-shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the Georges Pompidou Center. In 2004 he was selected for the lifetime achievement award of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum. As a Fulbright scholar, Glaser studied with the painter, Giorgio Morandi in Bologna, and is an articulate spokesman for the ethical practice of...

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched.
