About the artist:

Although I have been called many things in my life, I like to think of myself as an artist, showman, humorist, lecturer, teacher, television host, producer and philanthropist. I am the author of the book "Paint Good and Fast" which explains my techniques. (Painting techniques, of course!). I am considered by far and away the world's most prolific painter. My paintings hang in some of the finest homes and museums throughout the world. My portrait of Pope Paul VI has sold over 3 million copies in reproduction internationally. More than 100 museums around the globe own and have exhibited my art. The Smithsonian Institute has three of my paintings on display. I currently have studios in New York City and Jerusalem I have been demonstrating my "Instant Art" techniques before enthusiastic audiences world-wide for over 50 years. I have appeared on the hit TV show, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and holds records in the Guiness World Book of Records for being the world's fastest artist. On July 15, 1987, I painted for 12 consecutive hours at New York City's then Penta Hotel (now Hotel Pennsylvania) during which time I completed 103 paintings and sold 55 on the spot. The proceeds were donated to the Boy Scouts of America World's Fastest Artist At the Roma Pizza Guiness Record Holders Convention in New York City on May 9, 1988, I painted a 12 inch by 16 inch canvas of a child in the snow in 30 seconds plus 8 seconds to frame it. This set a new world record. Largest Body of Saleable Work Using only a palette knife and wads of toilet tissue, I have created and sold over 225,000 original oil paintings, having in the process, wrested the crown from none other than Picasso himself. I broke Picasso's record on October 1st, 1985 in front of the Art Students League on 57th Street in New York City. Over the years, I have appeared at fund raisers, conventions, international resorts, casinos, major department stores, theaters, and nightclubs entertaining patrons with humorous anecdotes while producing paintings that delight everyone. Often, I have been asked to appear on a TV show to promote an event that I was hired to attend as part of the organization's public relations effort. In addition to producing and hosting over 600 TV shows, I have been seen on national television many times. The shows include: 60 Minutes Walter Cronkite Ripley's Believe It Or Not Joe Franklin Mike Douglas Thicke of the Night David Letterman Prime Time Live NBC Today CBS News Regis Philbin's Lifetime PM Magazine Good Morning New York The Best of Real People Hour Magazine Various programs in Israel, Japan, Italy, Australia and Germany written by Morris Katz from his website.
