About The Artist: Otto Herbert Hajek

Otto Herbert Hajek (born 27 June 1927 in Kaltenbach, Czechoslovakia, † 29 April 2005 in Stuttgart) was a German abstract painter, graphic artist and sculptor. Life Hajek attended high school in Prachatitz and later went to school in Erlangen. From 1947 to 1954 he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
