about Paysanne et Enfant

Walking along the countryside path, the woman in this Pablo Picasso print carries her baby in a red blanket close to her chest.

Rendered in soft, muted colors, the scene is altogether more dimensional and reliant on realistic perspective than many of the artist's more avant garde work. Estate of Picasso, (Marina Picasso) pencil signature and embossed blindstamp lower right. Ink stamp verso 'Approved by the heirs of Pablo Picasso'.

About The Medium: Lithograph

A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
