About the artist:

Pat was born on September 16, 1938 in Springfield, Minnesota, to P.C. Alfred “Chic” and Helen Dorow. She was one of four sisters. Pat grew up surrounded by horses and was involved in 4H and participated in horse events. Pat was also beginning her art career. She attended Art Instruction Schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Among her early work was a book that she illustrated. Pat married her high school sweetheart, Al Lipetzky, on January 23, 1960 in Springfield, MN. They moved to New Mexico where they started their family of four sons. The family moved every few years due to Al’s job with the State Police. While raising a family, Pat also became an accomplished Western artist in oil painting, china painting, and bronzes and was active in church as a religious education teacher. In the ‘70s the family moved to Wyoming and later to Montana where she continued her art career, mainly with oil paintings. While in Whitefish, MT, Pat helped to start a homeless shelter and no matter where she has lived, has always taken roses to church weekly to place by the tabernacle. Pat and Al moved to Pittsburgh, PA in 2001 to be closer to three of their sons, and while there, Pat became interested in painting religious art and learned how to write Icons. Her Icons are in chapels and churches in Boise, ID, Montana, Kentucky and China. In 2006, they moved to Boise to be near their oldest son. Pat was very spiritual and frequently in prayer. She was very knowledgeable about spiritual matters and had many spiritual books. She continued to be an inspiration to others and always had a kind word or support for those that visited her. She was a terrific cook and would put on feasts during the holidays or any time. She loved and spoiled all her dogs. Pat was diagnosed with cancer in September, 2014, and during her final months was able to spend quality time with her family and friends. One of the final things she said was how happy she was about a dream she had all day. She said, "I see Jesus holding my hand and smiling at me. We are walking in a garden toward the sunrise." She passed into heaven July 12, 2015 at sunrise.
