Duteurtre was born July 10, 1911 to the Mourning Barre (Val d'Oise). His career as a designer began in 1930. From 1934 to 1939 he worked for Paris-based publishing (SPE). From 1947 he worked for publications Marijac where he created on his series Marijac scenarios most famous Sitting Bull. This series includes 277 plates, appeared from 1948 to 1953 in the journal Coq Hardi. It was reprinted by the Glénat, in two albums released in 1978 and 1979. Had to work for publications Marijac until 1968. Then he left comics to devote himself fully to painting. Pierre Duteurtre died November 9, 1989 of a stroke.
