about Twin Springs Diner

Featuring two men seated at the counter of a diner, Ralph Goings's depiction of a classic American establishment can be viewed as a prime example of photorealism.

Although both figures face away from the viewer, the scene emphasizes the societal importance of diners and their social relevance in recent American history.

About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
