About the artist:

Born in Israel, Raya Talmor studied art at High Institute of Art, Oranim.She graduated with honours a B.A. degree in Art at the University of Haifa and later joined the staff of the University's School of Education. Raya Talmor's style is characterized by a technique of brush painting, and by the relation between the abstract and the hinted figurative element. Her work covers a variety of motives - Israel landscapes, impressions, Israel's wars and many others. Most of her work is done using oil and water color. She had many shows in Israel and the USA. Her works are in private collections in Israel and abroad. Studies: 1959-61 Oranim College of Art, Tivon; Haifa University, 1972-75 B.A. in the Arts and 1975-78 M.A. in Art Education; Paris, painting on silk. Teaching: From 1975 Haifa University, Teacher training Department. 1986 Painting used as United Nations Stamp Issue, "Shelter for the Homeless".
