Sitting with her legs crossed, the late Princess Diana of Wales smiles happily toward the viewer while her two sons, Princes William and Harry, stand next to one another and stare downward.

Wearing a green ensemble with tousled hair and natural makeup, the late princess is rendered as she appeared before her death before age 30, while her sons are rendered in the appearance of their respective ages at the time as well. Surrounded by a garden of flowers and illuminating sunlight, the isolation of Diana from her sons supports the later dating of this work to shortly after her death as a commemorative portrait celebrating her close relationship with her children and their bond even after death.
