Rene Genis
Rene Genis was born in Hue, Vietnam. His family moved to their native Bordeaux, France in 1931. He is known for his landscapes and still lifes, his fauvist use of color, and strong compositions. One of his paintings has an old label from Gallerie Carpenier in Paris and is stamped from Wally Findlay Gallery in New York where it was apparently purchased in 1992. Lithograph
A print created using flat stones or metal plates. The artist creates a lithograph by drawing an image directly onto the printing element using materials like lithograph crayons or special grease pencils. After this, the drawing is transferred from the plate to the paper in multiples. A lithograph will not have dots when examined with a magnifying glass.
