about Untitled 2

Standing behind the man, the blonde woman holds him by the neck with both of her large hands as they both stand at the center of an ornate doorway with an eagle and columns.

Rex Clawson's unique artistic style is present in this work, in which he relies heavily on thick lines and contrasting patterns to enliven and add energy to his pieces.

About The Artist: Rex Clawson

Rex Clawson was born in 1929 in Dallas, Texas. As a child, his favorite artist was Jon Witcomb, an illustrator for the women's magazines his mother subscribed to. In his teens, he read "Lust for Life" and discovered Van Gogh, Gauguin, and the Impressionists. All of his early paintings reflect these artists. About The Medium: Screenprint

A stencil process employing a frame on which silk or synthetic fabric is stretched. Stencils are hand-drawn or hand-cut and placed on the stretched fabric and act as a block out when the ink passes through the screen by means of a squeegee onto the paper, the non-stencil areas create the image. Also known as silkscreen or serigraph.
