Robert Delval

French (1934)

About the artist:

A charge of excitement vibrates through the impressionism of Robert Delval. His works are those of an artist who uses style and color with a winning combination of dash and nerve, confidence and skill. His landscapes hum with vivacious colors; cities radiate mid-day heat, or the cool rustling of a late afternoon breeze in an alleyway. Whether the palette is hot or cool, these paintings and lithographs are alive and singing, reflecting his personal and energetic view of the world. This becomes all the more obvious when one looks at his accomplished brushstroke; it is loose and free, yet always in control. It is Delval’s great skill that allows him to give an impression of abandon in his painting style. Delval was born in 1934 at Montmarte in Paris. He studied at the Art Decon School in Paris. His paintings have been exhibited in France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
