Roman Cieslewicz was born in Lvov, Poland /now Ukraine/ in 1930, died of a heart attack in Paris on January 21, 1996. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in 1955. Having arrived in France in 1963, he became a naturalized French citizen in 1971.
